Rhodes Development is a land development firm specializing in the construction of major mixed-use developments, master-planned, single-family communities, retail centers, multi-family projects, parks, and more in South Texas.

We take land development to the next level with thoughtful stewardship of the land, resources, and diverse natural wildlife. When designing our projects, we take care to provide opportunities for stable jobs through infrastructure for industry and commerce. We work to ensure every child has access to top-quality schools, from elementary to college-level.

Mike Rhodes

Founder/VP of Land Development

Mike founded Rhodes Enterprises and Esperanza Homes nearly 25 years ago, establishing the company’s vision of building communities that enhance the lives of their residents. In 2015 Mike proudly named Nick Rhodes as his successor and transitioned to serve as the Vice President of Land Development. This allows Mike to focus on the areas of the business he most enjoys and where he is considered an industry leader: leading the team and acquiring, designing, and developing the land for all master planned, residential and commercial construction projects.

Brad K. Frisby

Land Acquisition Director

Brad has more than 20 years of sales experience in Corporate Furnishings Telecommunications, and Real Estate Data Intelligence in the Dallas, Houston, Austin and Atlanta markets. He is a licensed Texas real estate agent with commercial real estate experience and extensive knowledge of the Rio Grande Valley market. He has a a particular focus on land development and multifamily housing. Brad attended South Plains College. He lives in McAllen with his wife and four children.

Oscar Cordova III

Land Development Project Manager

Oscar is currently Project Manager at the Tres Lagos Development, as well as other communities in McAllen, Edinburg, San Juan, and Weslaco. He has more than 5 years’ experience in land and community development in the San Antonio, Houston, and Rio Grande Valley regions, working with leading companies including Friendswood Development, Land Tejas, Southerland Communities, Pulte Homes, and Meritage Homes. Oscar holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M Kingsville.

Kimberly Diaz

Land Development Coordinator

Kimberly joined Rhodes Development in 2021 as a Land Development Coordinator. Currently she assists the team with daily tasks involving more than 30 commercial and residential projects in the McAllen, Edinburg, Mission, San Juan, Brownsville, and Weslaco areas. Kimberly graduated from Texas Tech University in 2018 with a degree in Plant and Soil Science and a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. For the last two years she has focused her career on environmental studies and management. She lives in Edinburg and is pursuing her master’s degree in Agricultural, Environmental and Sustainability Studies from UTRGV.

Mishell Mazon

Land Acquisition Coordinator

In 2021 Mishell relocated from Ecuador to pursue her MSc. in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and to join the Rhodes team. Currently Mishell is a Land Acquisition Coordinator and assists the Land Development team by creating preliminary budgets, schedules, cost estimates and cashflows. She has over a year of experience in developing civil projects from the preliminary to recordation stage. Mishell graduated from Universidad San Francisco de Quito with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
